Latest News on The Edge Sports Blackwater Triathlon – EarlyBird Special Race Entry Rate!    15/05/2013

The date is set and planning is well under way for the 2013 Edge Sports Blackwater Triathlon. Due to popular demand The Blackwater Tri Club have decided to extend the early bird entry rate into this years race. Up until 13^th June you can register for the triathlon for only €35, rather than the normal entry of €40. All race participants will get to compete in a fantastic race and get a race goody bag. In addition we are reducing the price for teams, down to €60, teams can have either 2 or 3 members.  For further info on club training sessions see the website www.blackwatertriclub.com We are delighted once again to welcome The Edge Sports as our main sponsor of the race. This years race will take place on Saturday 17^th August in Fermoy. The race will commence with a 750 m swim in the Blackwater, followed by a 20km bike and a 6 km run.

The Edge Sports Blackwater Triathlon 2013 – Early Bird Special!!!

The Edge Sports Blackwater Triathlon will take place in Fermoy on Saturday 17^th August. This is the 6^th year of the event which is hosted by the local Blackwater Triathlon Club.  The triathlon is a sprint triathlon, making it a great race for those taking part in their first race. The race involves a 750 m swim, a 20 km bike and a 6 km run. As a special incentive to encourage more locals to take part in this year’s event there is a reduced price for those who register early. The normal entry price to the triathlon is €40, but for all those who register before the 30^th April, the price is only €30. This will include race entry, a goody bag, a t-shirt and the bragging rights to your mates! After this date the price will increase so enter early and save yourself a few quid! The triathlon is open to both individuals and relay teams. The price of entry for a relay team has also reduced this year. Teams of two or three people can enter the race for only €60 per team. The race has gone from strength to strength over the last number of years, much of this is due to the huge support the race gets from the local community – both individuals and businesses to which the club are very thankful. This support and the warm welcome Fermoy offers to those travelling to the race has been acknowledged by participants in the past. We’re looking forward to another very successful event this year. The Blackwater Triathlon Club is hoping that this years race will be even more popular with the locals and are encouraging anyone who would like to give the triathlon a go to contact the club and come along to any of our training sessions. New members are always welcome and the club caters for those who have never done a triathlon before to those who are more experienced.
