ASICS research carried out on gender differences in running has led to specific technologies being included in the GEL-KAYANO 17. 3mm of height has been added to the heel of the women’s version to relieve Achilles tension. The pod of GEL in the forefoot has a lower density in the women’s model for increased comfort and a pocket of air in the sole allows for the normal periodic changes that occur in the arch of the foot. This version is exceptionally comfortable. Memory foam around the heel and tongue personalises the shoe to the wearer’s foot, giving a snug fit for comfort and reducing risk of injury, while a 5.5mm X-40 ComforDry Sockliner gives extra cushioning and a healthier in-shoe environment.
