The Kona Jake The Snake Bike 2017 features a polished geometry with a lower bottom bracket, slightly taller head tube and slightly shorter top tube, resulting in a bike that’s steady and allows a more neutral position, while preserving the racing tradition of the platform. The head tube angle for all models corresponds to the bottom bracket drop, allowing the bike to be ridden more aggressively without fear of performing an uncontrolled superman. The slacker head tube coupled with the shorter top tube also preserve the wheelbase and make for a responsive, confident ride. You'll enjoy the Shimano 105 components, since it provides some of the smoothest shifting around. Paired with the WTB STP i19 Wheels you'll have yourself reliable set-up that can take on any challenge.

  • Kona Race Light 7005 construct features thicker tubing at welds and high stress areas, and thinner tubing a low stress areas, creating a perfect balance between quickness and stiffness
  • Tapered Head Tube gives more girth at the bottom of the head tube to better distribute shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing positive steering performance
  • Kona Full Carbon CX Race Disc fork absorbs vibration and reduces the overall weight
  • Internal cable routing prevents cable contamination while maintaining a clean aesthetic

Born in the deep forests of Vancouver, British Columbia in 1988, Kona has since gone on to become one of the most influential bicycle manufacturers in the world, known for it’s innovations in mountain bike design, creative marketing and now, road and commuter offerings.

Named for the breezy trade winds that keep the Hawaiian Islands lush and tropical, throughout the company’s 28-year history, their designers have always believed that technology isn’t about creating new confusing acronyms and high-tech principles that may or may not help a bike to ride better. Quite often it’s the simplest innovations that enable the greatest improvements.

With offices in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Washington, and Geneva, Switzerland, and a staff that lives and breathes riding bikes, today Kona is perhaps best known for its blend of modern technology and creative thought. One of the most notable innovations of 2014, one that garnered them an incredible amount of attention, was the simple idea of rider fit, best viewed in the geometry and design of their incredibly successful line of Process enduro bikes.

A lot of the company’s most noteworthy technology comes in the form of its undying attention to detail. From steel to carbon fiber to titanium, refined aluminum alloys through to Scandium 69, Kona features perfected bicycle models ranging from Kids’ cyclocross bikes to World Cup downhill race machines, stylish inner city commuters to flat-out, perfectly priced road bikes. Still owned by its original founders, Kona is one of cycling’s great success stories.
