Sleek is sexy. Less is more. These values hold true, especially in case of chamois selection and most cycling clothing. Excess materials only create bulk, abrasion, and discomfort. For these reasons exactly, the Assos Men's T.equipe_s7 Short has become THE short of the Werksmannschaft (aka the Assos factory team) and the low volume, race fit option for many.
Assos has sculpted this fabric into a true race cut of cloth..."cloth" being hyper-advanced and multi-patented materials. This short, in comparison to the T.cento, offers more compression, a more snug fit all around, and finally, a more finely tuned and anatomically shaped chamois. Type.439 fabric provides the ideal blend of support and weight, creating quite a peleton-crushing combo. Also excelling in breathability and moisture transfer, Type.439 fabric keeps you cooler and drier on those relentless stages and long days training. A big shout out to the iceColor fabric coating for reducing surface temperatures in darker clothing.
In _s7 shorts, the new Y7 bibTech straps (and included bibStabilizer eyeglass holders on the straps) have been pushed outward towards the obliques, offering better support when hunched over in attack position. Doing so also eliminated any gaps that usually occur in this position. And speaking of holding things, SuperFlat grippers are designed to comfortably keep your shorts in place without restricting bloodflow or airflow to the critical parts of your legs. Being in the saddle for so many miles, hours, and espressos can be taxing; constant high-frequency vibrations from road chatter fatigues muscles...the Assos solution? muscleStabilizer....a highly elastic material that offers good compression and anti-fatigue properties.
As with all _s7 shorts, they wear a new and special amethyst color that was selected in order to pay homage to the royalty of Roman emperors, English monarchs, and artistocracies that changed the history of the world in much the same way as Assos is changing the world of cycling. Take the S7 chamois, for instance. Starting with 8mm memoryFoam material that expands and contracts with the natural movements of your body, Assos then added in the waffle fabric in order to quickly move moisture away from your body. Rounding out the package that surrounds your package, the Equipe has two extra front panels, allowing the chamois to assume a cuplike shape, increasing comfort. Additionally, goldenGate technology, a seamless way of attaching the chamois to the short, improves the rider's freedom of movement in the saddle and enhances comfort beyond what was previously thought possible.
Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling apparel, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle.
During the wind tunnel tests of the first ever carbon-fiber bike, Toni inadvertently found that lycra downhill ski racing suits had much less drag than the woolen-knitted cycling clothes of the time. To this day Assos firmly believe in total product competence, delivering optimum function and comfort, by researching and making its cycling apparel and accessories from the very best materials.
