The Orca women's RS1 Dream Kona Race Suit is state-of-the-art apparel specially designed for longer distances, that comes into its own in the heat. For longer distance racing, come rain or shine.

Features:

  • Carbon6 water-repellent coating reduces drag in the water and so increases swim speed and retains natural buoyancy
  • FeatherLite side panels give that second-skin feeling and incredible freedom of movement
  • Main body Oxygen fabric with coldblack® technology makes it feel like you’re wearing a white suit - perfect for hot conditions
  • Perforated 6mm Berenis Breathe Lite Chamois with 60kg density and matrix top fabric for fast wicking makes this chamois the ultimate for a long distance race
  • Handy seam-sealed back pockets provide room for extra fuel during the race
  • Weight: 100gsm

Technologies:

  • coldblack®: coldblack® technology, which is a coating applied to the Oxygen fabric featured across the RS1 Dream Kona range, reflects the sun away from the body making it feel like you’re wearing white when you’re wearing black. This allows you to stay cooler for longer in warm conditions, keeping your core body temperature lower.
  • FeatherLite: Orca exclusive FeatherLite, is a very light and thin fabric-weighing in at just 80gsm-used specifically on the side panels in the body and in the legs throughout the RS1 range. The second-skin feeling it gives is due to its weight, breathability and moisture wicking. Offers excellent UV protection for its lightweight feel and with its Carbon 6 Water Repellent Coating is super fast in the water where you need it.
  • Oxygen: The 130gsm Oxygen fabric used across the Rs1 Dream Kona styles was chosen for its fast-drying hydrophobic surface, making it great for the swim, combined with its UV protection and high breathability that’s just as important for the rest of the race. With the application of cold black technology to keep you cool this fabric is the ultimate for long distance hot conditions.
  • Carbon 6: The Carbon 6 Water Repellent coating is applied to fabrics to reduce their drag when swimming. It does this by preventing water from penetrating the yarn. This means that the water glides over the fabric-reducing resistance and therefore increasing speed. Because water is not able to penetrate the yarn the fabric remains dry and so lighter, maintaining the natural buoyancy of the swimmer. This water repellent coating is applied on all of the RS1 Killa and RS1 Dream Kona styles.

Orca

Whilst working as a swim coach, and from his first hand experience in competing in triathlon, Scott Unsworth realised that the wetsuits used at the time were completely inadequate for swimming. In 1992 Scott started up a company called Performance Speedsuits Ltd, based out of his parent's house in Auckland, New Zealand. He began to develop his "Speedsuits", which featured greater flexibility and buoyancy than other existing wetsuits.

The business started with Scott selling his Speedsuits from the back of his car at swim meets and triathlon events. The Speedsuits quickly gained a following amongst athletes and the business started to grow. Scott was taking his first steps towards introducing what would become Orca, to the world. A young New Zealand triathlete named Hamish Carter became one of the first athletes to sign up with the company that is now Orca. Over the next 13 years Hamish Carter went on to become one of the best known triathletes in the world - culminating in a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

About Us This web site is owned and operated by The Edge Sports Shop who are completely dedicated to your total satisfaction. If you have any suggestions or comments or if you need to contact us, please email us using the link on the store page or use the details below.

Internet Pricing

As with many retailers, sometimes it is necessary for us to compete with online competition by reducing our online prices.  Thinking logically about it, an internet customer takes up virtually no time in the shop - you are not trying on different sizes (creating mess which has to be tidied by staff), often taking advice .etc. - a service we love providing but it still costs money!  We will endeavour to match internet prices in our shop but this cannot be guaranteed.  Similarly for the bike to work scheme, if a company is using a 3rd party voucher company (see our Bike2Work page) then we cannot match the sale price because we are not actually receiving the sale amount - we are receiving a lot less due to the commission taken.
