Product Description:Advice for Road Runners: The
HOKA Men's Arahi 6 is one of the most popular stability running shoes at Run4It. We recommend the Arahi for runners who need additional support for excess pronation. We're big fans of the Bluesteel/Sunlit Ocean colourway.
Underfoot FeelThe
HOKA Arahi 6 feels padded and protective underfoot. As it has a J-Frame support structure, it doesn't feel as soft as HOKA neutral running shoes, such as the Clifton. However, this J-Frame support stops excess pronation and helps keep you in the right position. The J-Frame support kicks in when you need it, meaning it feels natural and comfortable under your arches.
The Arahi 6 features an early stage Meta-Rocker. This curved midsole design rocks your feet forward, particularly when you get tired. In our experience, the rocker shaping feels very smooth underfoot. It's easy to forget you're wearing them.
Upper FitThe upper of
HOKA Arahi 6 feels lightweight and breathable. While you might expect these traits in most running shoes, the Arahi feels exceptionally good. It's hard not to see the extended heel pull tab. Yes, this is for some aesthetic purposes, but it also reduces Achilles tendon friction and makes it easier to slip them on and off.
As HOKA only converts men's US to UK sizes by half a size, we recommend choosing your normal US running shoe size. We also stock the wide-fit version of the HOKA Arahi 6, in case you're looking for a broader fit.
Ideal Run TypeThe
HOKA Men's Arahi 6 are stability running shoes. For this reason, they're best suited to runners with greater ranges of pronation or leg rotation. If your suffering from knee or hip discomfort, as a result of instability, you're likely to benefit from the J-Frame support.
We also recommend rocker shaped shoes for runners who get tight calf muscles. As the Arahi 6 rock your feet forward, they reduce how much the calf muscles have do to push off. It's not all about cushioning in a running shoe, the midsole geometry is very important.
In terms of pace, we suggest running in the Arahi 6 on your slower to steady paced runs. It's more than cushioned enough for long distances, so is a great marathon training running shoe.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
